Jazz in July: Robert Robinson

A native of Minnesota, Robert is perceived as the “Pavarotti of Gospel” in the Twin Cities. Robert has performed for such greats as Aretha Franklin, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Jermaine Jackson, Prince, Mattie Moss Clark and the Clark Sisters, The Steeles and the Sounds of Blackness. Robert toured nationally and was the featured vocalist for 15 years with Lorie Line and her pop chamber orchestra. Robert has 12 solo projects to his credit. Robert was the executive/artistic director of the Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir and Ensemble for 20 years. The choir began in May 1990 and has approximately 110 members. Together they traveled in Minnesota and throughout the Upper Midwest. Currently, Robert works as the artist in residence at First Covenant Church-Minneapolis and sits on the ministry team.

All concerts begin at 7:00pm. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets at 6:30pm for treats and beverages. Refreshment sales support Habitat for Humanity, and all concerts are free for everyone. If the evening brings severe heat or rainstorms, the concert will move inside. All are welcome!
