Overview of the Conference
Why is baseball often referenced as “America’s pastime”? What is it about this sport that has intrigued not only America but the world for over 160 years? What brings 25,000 people a night to watch a game involving a bat and ball? Is there anything the church can learn from the “religion” of baseball and its fans?
During this conference, we will be learning about the different ways that baseball relates to religion, community, and culture. Rev. Dr. Nate Frambach, a self-professed fan of baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals, will guide our discussions. This conference also includes two baseball games between the Minnesota Twins and the 2018 World Champion Boston Red Sox. Each evening will provide a different opportunity to immerse ourselves in the culture and religion surrounding baseball.
