The church is not a club where one pays fees in order to make it to heaven. Membership is more about recognizing our adoption into the family of God. Through Holy Baptism, God our Creator names us and claims us and calls us by name. Through the gift of forgiveness through the sacrament of Holy Communion we are made right in our relationship with God thus enabling us to be in right relationship with our neighbor.
When someone becomes a member at All Saints they are encouraged to engage in the following faith practices:
MARKS OF OUR DISCIPLESHIP
In response to God's overwhelming love, we are disciples who:
PROCLAIM / Worship weekly and as a lifestyle share our faith with others.
GROW / Encourage spiritual growth, pray and read scripture daily, grow in giving in giving to God's work.
SERVE / Serve with joy in ministry at All Saints and in outreach beyond All Saints.
In addition to taking care of their spiritual lives, members are asked to attend new member classes, the new member reception, and attend one small group or life-long learning event, such as Bible study.
Automated Giving Option: At All Saints we are hoping to have 20% of our membership using our automated giving option. Using a new portal, due out before January of 2010, on the Stewardship page you’ll be able to manage your gifts to the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ here at All Saints.
New members also fill out a Discipleship Engagement Form to determine what each member is interested in doing on behalf of Christ at All Saints.
